Loon Lake
« on: Jan 28, 2006, 07:10 PM »
Has anyone ever heard of Loon lake near St. Walburg.  It's about a 45 minite drive from North Battleford.  Any info would be great.   :)

There's a chain of lakes there, Makwa and a few others. I think they're strung together in sort of a curve and it's a popular canoe trip to do the chain.  Steele Narrows is there.  meadowpikeman and some other northerners fish there, but I haven't been on it for about 10 years now.  Pine Cove Resort just north of the town of Loon Lake is where we got on.  Pike, walleye and perch, no trout. Watch for bears in the spring and fall.
The problem with quotes on the internet is that they're difficult to prove.
