My title is Fluid Tech.
I look after the coolants on CNC machines, fluids in wash systems and heat treating systems in a factory that produces transmission gears.
Also cleaning & minor repairs to the systems.

I am a chemical plant operator.  Four on, four off schedule means finding time to fish isn't too tough. Although it's never enough.

Tool Maker for the Arms Maker for Responsible Citizens. 20 years in Dec. Moonlighted doing Carpentry(owner) while working second shift at Ruger. Part-time knifemaker and decoy maker. Enjoy the toolmaker job now. Been doing it for 2 years. When I was an operator, schedule had to coincide with others in the cell. Now doing the toolmaking, I have my own schedule. I can start as early as I like and leave whenever as long as I get 8 hrs in. Most days I start at 3am and I'm out by 230pm. During deer season I am out by noon. Very laid back now. That's good because I have about 25 years left til retirement. ;D

Sanitary Maintainece technician (janitor, porter, custodian) for a supermarket chain in south eastern New York. My job involves everything from cleaning the floors and toilet to cleaning the refrigerated product display cases. Hence the screen name here on Ice Shanty. Whopper Stopper it seems everyone has a fancy job title now a days. No more repairman or mechanic everybody is some kind of tech. My employer also calls us employees associates.

The last 20 years at a private university, Manager of Network Infrastructure; that's a guy that troubleshoots, repairs, maintains the fiber optic and copper data network cabling, the telephone switch and cabling, and the TV cable system.  Keeps me busy and I get most of the time off I want, for fishing and playing.  17 years before that on a dairy farm - herdsman, mechanic (diesel, gas and equipment) and equipment operator (tractor driver)  ;)
I liked it, the owner passed away and I felt it was time to move on.  Before that it was odd jobs and four years in the AirForce.  The "hurry up and wait" drove me to take the opportunity for a honorable discharge. (I did nuculear munitions maintenance and explosives ordanance disposal in those four years).
I want to be an astronaut when I grow up.  :P
Almost ready for my next career move -------- retirement.  @)

Actually, mine is self bestowed. ;) I'm a one man operation and don't really have a title. I just told the bosses I was Director of Operations, Floor Maintenance and they said "Fine & dandy". Anything to inflate my ego. ;D
