Looking like the 40 degree temps with rain this weekend might hold us up a bit longer  :-\

Back before Christmas I was comparing this yrs temps too 2012's water temps and made a chart, its from the Oswego river, but it jives with our first day on Oneida in 2012 which was January 20th.  everything seems too be right on target so far for a similar freeze up..

I bought a frabill suit last year. They are everything I could ask for. Warm, comfortable, stops the wind, and look great. The only problem is there is no bottom zipper to take a leak. Not a big deal but wish the design incorporated it. All in all very satisfied. Can't go wrong with frabil, definitely built to last!
Freeze it and they will come.

lake cams show it skimmed last night - too bad we'll probably lose it after this weekend.

Pulled the sled out last weekend - started first pull and all the trailer lights work - that's the first time that has happen that I can remember.  I think you'll be close on the 20th Shane, should start freezing up next week.  I have the 18th off so I hope you're off by a couple days.

Sylvan canal had a top on it last night, but the lake looked to have one as far out as I could see driving over the bridge this morning

I have Cabelas uninsulated bibs, they are great for blocking the wind and when it gets cold I layer up undernearth, has a zipper in the fly as well.  My personal opinion is get more more use out of the uninsulated bibs (Spring perch fishing, snowblowing the driveway, tubing with the kids) since I don't get as hot.  Since they are uninsulated, they are not as bulky or heavy.  I spend my money on base layers to stay warm and I use the base layers for all kinds of things.  I did not want a set of insulated bibs for ice fishing or snowmobile (don't own one) but to each their own.

I bought a Snosuit" by frabill about 6 yrs ago, its rugged and warm, no complaints here, love it, it doesn't float, but its a great suit.

Almost everything was open when I came to work at 11. Some skim in the bays and on the west end. I think the water still needs to cool down some.

Yo Guys & Gals,

Just a brief note. I got one of them smart phones for Christmas and I am egregiously disappointed with it. In fact , I am thinking of a class action lawsuit against the company. After 2 weeks I ain't no damn smarter than when I started. Despite a lot of prompting from the grand kids I am still taking pictures of my foot and texting complete strangers.  Yup, you heard that right, Boggey is taking pictures and texting. Texting, almost sounds dirty don't it? Well anyway, I do have all your phone numbers in my pocket now and you can call me if you want to join my class action lawsuit.
