How's the snow up that way looks like Oneida lake is the bullseye hope it slushes up this wind can't be helping ice making
Pimplepounder, here's a webcam on the north shore of Oneida Lake at Bernhards Bay.  It also shows temperature, wind direction, and wind speed.  Hope this helps you.

webcam shows the lake is freezing up, surprised with this wind. Looks like a jagged bumpy mess but it's ice.

I believe the cam  is in the bay, I'm on Willard Point [less than 1/2 mile away] and its open water.

The cam is actually East of the bay, slightly East of the shoal there.

Lots of ice chunks flowing East today. The snow is slushing it up in Cleveland too. Not great ice but like slammy said, it's ice!

Welcome to Syracuse, what school are you attending? I'll have the NE Patriots flag flying high!

Syracuse University. Moved here in the Fall because my girlfriend is finishing her Engineering degree this spring and with ROTC too it was just easier for me to be out here. I actually won't be attending until this Spring Semester as an undecided student essentially gaining basic course credits (eventually I'll become an Education major) before transferring after we move to where she's being stationed in Tennessee. I've got a year and a half covered from my time at Castleton State (now university) back in Vermont so might as well get a little further in my college career while here. I'll be sure to look for you and the Pats flag out there!

Briggs bay has a coat of skim ice on it now, still open from Dutchman's moving east.  Hoping the weather tomorrow doesn't delay us any longer.

Took a few shots of Lake Ontario in those 30-60 mph winds the other day, monster squall just too my north made for an interesting sunset.

These were not taken by me, but some photographers got some great shots at Oswego in that storm, all the years I've been too lake Ontario this was by far the roughest I've personally ever seen it.

That second pic that Snagger posted of the lake (by Robert Clark)...I know Bob.  I used to work with him a bunch of years ago.  He takes GREAT photos.  As do you, Snag.  Thanks for sharing these.  Way cool!

Locked up Shane?  Too bad it is going to be warm this weekend.  I went on a 150 mile road trip today. Only one little pond 10 min from my house. Tomorrow I am going to grab my 10/22 and take out my angst on some tree monkeys.

Any of you guys use tip downs for pan fishing?  I've seen couple of youtube videos and read few articles on line about them.  Seems like it would be a neat thing to try.  I'm thinking using them for perch fishing. Thought I would ask here if it's worth trying, and for any tips or suggestions you may have.
Thanks
