I saw open water on Monday as well right where you say, but I thought it was marked with stakes and string?  I didn't drive by too close so if you went closer than I maybe your report is better.

I know what your talking about and that is still marked with stakes and rope. What I'm talking about is closer to shore and somewhat in line with that. Pretty much in the middle as for distance from shore to that marked area. The hole I came across was only about a foot big but it has very thin ice surrounding it. It's not noticed from a distance as I was driving up on it and took a quick right to avoid it.

How's the ice across from Loney's?  I question driving on it after such mild weather.  Going to take my family out on the weekend.

I've been away for a week, was anyone out at the lake this weekend? Just wondering if the ice is still safe to drive on?

We were out on the lake at Loneys just West of boat launch and still 2 feet of ice. Deceiving with all the cracking sounds going on. Had my heart going a few times too many. Thinking that's normal? Lots of people out there today.

Just got in from that way. Roads are good and ice is 2 feet thick. I never saw a fish down there. was about five hundred feet from the boat launch.

Anyone been at Loneys area the past couple days? I haven't even been out since before the last time I inquired about it but going to head out this weekend. How is the ice? Is it still accessible at the point by truck?
Hopefully the fish are still hungry.
Cheers! 😀

The ice is rotten in front of the provincial park.  We were out on Saturday and the high winds were creating pressure cracks in multiple areas.  I m pretty sure that the ice is no longer safe.  I would not even walk out at this point due to rotting ice and soft spots.
