Can't speak for the whole lake, but weve been driving for two weeks now. Best advice I can give is go where theres already tracks and be careful. About 15 inches of ice and still building.

We'll it doesn't look like we're getting an new snow I'll be bring the the wheeler to get out on the ice and hopefully bring my fish to lanzis haha! Haven't put one in yet 6yrs

This is my first time in this tournament and maybe third time ice fishing the lake. Are all fish weighed at Lanzis and no where else? Are fish being weighed near Broadalbin boat launch? I read rules, etc. but nervous about heading out there with 1750 other people. Any past participants that could chime in and tell me how this works would be appreciated. Thanks

lanzis or Broadalbin boat launch. don't worry about the 1750. be lucky if 1000-1500 actually fish it.

Tested out a new spot on the lake last week, had good luck.. Shanty is out. Excited but nervous about the -30 degree wind chills saturday morning. More prize fish money for us though. Too bad it wasn't last saturday like it usually is... just can't get luck with mother nature and this contest. And yet it's STILL the funnest day on the ice.

Watching the tipups from the CRV this yr,15 " of ice and building as we speak. -8 with a wind chill on top of that is going to be brutal, It will cut back the # of people who fish, Lanzies will be off the hook as always. Dave of World Famous Dave's Bait,is vigeriously training my Minnows to catch only Walleye's. Always some good fish stories in there. Be there or be square

I'll be there. going out friday, cut holes and bust out with spud bar sat. morning. quicker setting up out in the cold. also I'll leave heat on low all night in shack should be nice and toasty in the morning

Here are some dumb questions. the raffle afterwards is at lanzis, with 1750 people entered how does one get there? Are people driving across the lake? Parking outside of that place. How can it handle the cars?? I understand many will be on sleds, atvs. But what about people with cars etc? I was out saturday and trucks were all over the lake, can you drive across the ice from say Lanzis to Broadalbin boat launch? I'm just trying to figure out how I can fish without standing in a sea of people, enter a fish if I'm lucky enough to get one that is decent, and then get to the raffle afterwards.

Gonna be silly cold this year. High of 10 wind gust of 30 mph. I didn't think last year could be topped. Hopefully this couple inches of powder we got today blows off by then
