keeping perch eyes fresh

Does anybody have any advice on keeping perch eyes as fresh as possible?

freeze them and take out what u need,  do it all the time

I keep them right on the perch 'till I need them...seem to be the freshest that way ;D ;)

Freeze them in a zip-lock bag with just enough water to cover them and squeeze out the air this pill prevent freezer burn

I'm with you pikeguy on real cold days when everything is freezing solid you pop out a bunch of eyes and keep them in your bottom lip. Don't laugh fisherman do this !  :-X :-* taste like sushi !  SHINER 8)

For what kind of fish? Aint never heard of using fish eyes before.  My guess would be catfish / bullheads, carp or some kind of bottom feeder that's not fussy what they eat.

I can remember bringing home a box full of perch off the lake, when I was young, and my mom comming to see my catch, then grossing out cause half the perch were missing eyes.   ;D  Seems like some days they wanted eyes, and some days white grubs.  I dont know if it was a light bait vs dark bait thing or what.....

Never tried any other eyes but i dont know why others wouldnt work as long as they werent too large .

I have kept them in a jar with salt water covering them.  I keep them in my fridge.
