happy news years all i see mother nature not on side but guess and hope we can get on the ice and safe ice t just don't want to lose good fishing buddies so b safe out there and maybe we can have a party for the first lake that looks up with ice

Looks like the wind is going to die down Teusday afternoon and stay calm through Wednesday. Its looking pretty good.

A lot of small ponds were locked up on the way to CTO Anything with wind exposure or moving water was still open

Mt Tom pond is only 1/3rd the size of Batt, givin the success we had at Batt ,gardners.much shorter drive.they may be first on the list. In the teens now and failing

Sorry I was on my phone and didn't realize I grabbed the wrong link. Yeah the guy who made that chart is actually a never on here. He said that it's based on thermo dynamics but based on perfect conditions. So navy factors to take into account like warm springs and wind. That chart definitely isn't fool proof so always check yourself to make sure it's "safe"

Good info Ravo, and good advice. Somebody may get on one of the ponds or small lakes in the next couple of days, lets all be careful. No fish is worth your life. Take your safety gear, especially a PFD, rope and picks. Check the ice ahead of you with your spud as you walk. Don't go alone. It's getting close guys & gals, be safe and have fun!
