I'm ashamed to say it, but I've still not gotten out on the ice yet this season. And here comes the warmup...

My brothers and I havent made it out yet either

....between the rain and X-Mas its a very tough time to break free...hopefully this weekend we can get on some ice somewhere

....anybody know about the ice thickness on Brant and Indian?

Where do you live that you couldn't get on the ice? Or were you just too busy?

I've manage to get out about a half dozen times, mostly short trips to local waters.

I haven't been out yet either. I'm currently building my house and helping my brother build his, so my time is very limited. Hopefully I'll get out a few times, but the house is priority right now.

Got out first time today for about 3 hours, caught 3 bass, obviously nothing to bring home but it was fun to pull something through the ice. One of the bass was a pretty nice smallie anout 4lbs or so

I haven't been on the ice yet. I'm going on Thursday and hopefully on Saturday if there's still safe ice. If there is no ice the following week I'm going to Simcoe. It's tough for me to get out during the holidays.

I'm down here in southern ny, orange county to be exact... I might have to make a nice drive north to find some ice this weekend.

I'm still waitin' till there is a little bit more ice. I like to carry around a little more weight than I need. And then again there was that time 3 yrs. ago on Chataqua with gudkatch on 3 in. of ice...............scar y .................

in my youth , i was always the ist guy out on thin ice and i never went through but now in the twilight of my ice fishing career and pushing 400 lbs and disabled, if i go through now im dead!!!!!!!!!!!! this fact will make just about everyone stop to think about what is safe ice. i never went out last year till the middle of january and still had an awesome safe season. now i follow the trucks, 4 wheelers and snow mobiles out and if i see a tractor trailer out , even better for me. please use caution on skinny ice, no fish is worth drowning for. big dave out.

Haven't made it out yet. Had a series of small heart attacks a couple of weeks ago. No permanent damage, now have three stents however. Will see the cardiologist today at 1:00 pm. I hope he gives me the OK. Tightlines and please everyone be safe out there.

Not yet, kind of busy with family issues. Probably could have gotten out a couple times, just haven't bothered. My usual early ice spots are marginal, and I don't feel like travelling. For some reason, I haven't gotten the fever for it this year, my gear isn't even ready. Usually I have everything ready to go a month before first ice. The warm weather isn't doing anything to spur my interest, either.

With a change of jobs and a move I have not been out yet either mac so don't feel to bad! I plan to change that tomorrow thought!! Considering we moved to a house on Lake Champlain I should have some time to make up for the past few weeks of missed fishing!

What ice? There aint no ice out there. There aint gonna be no ice out there 'till I get finished with this shop add-on and get them motorcycles off the front lawn and that 450lb brandy new motorcycle lift out of the driveway and into the shop where it belongs. That will be TODAY. Then, and ONLY then, will there be ice.

Fact is, what ice there is didn't happen before I was forced to put on my Carpenter's Hat and stuff a thousand board feet of rough-cut into a mini-pickup and 40 concrete blocks and pressure treated 2x6s into Sherry's new Ford Taurus. This happened the other day...,
...AFTER I went through the ice up in Summit, with the NEW underwater camera, and auger. The lady on the shore was screaming like I was on fire 'till she realized I was standing up in about four feet of water on fairly hard bottom. I retrieved the stuff and the ice broke away as I reached the shore.
I'm still drying stuff out and when I'm finished with the shop I can start putting stuff back together again. The auger will be OK but I'm afraid it's titzup for the TV receiver although the camera itself was made for dunking. One great thing I noted when I got back to Sherry's place. The new 15" lace up, guarenteed waterproof, hard toe loggers boots Sherry bought, did not leak as promised. All the water stayed inside, as promised, 'till we got the boots off.
Well guys. I gotta go play carpenter some more, THEN there'll be ice. 8),

I still haven't made it out onto the ice. I checked out a couple of places yesterday and the ice around the edges is still making me nervous about trying to get out there.
