This years SENY gathering will be held at the Gander Mtn ,100 N Galleria Dr, Middletown, NY 10941 · (845) 692-5600 .on November 8th 2014...the hours for the gathering will be 1pm till 5pm (til 6 pm if need be)

I am encouraging members to bring a show and tell item and/or a topic for discussion ...share your experiences ,wisdom and tried and true techniques with your fellow members .

I am also asking members if they wish to supply a snack ,refreshments, paper products etc please post to this thread so members can see what others will be bringing and to avoid duplications .

Hope you all can make it .

Ps I know the date/times may not be convenient for some members ..but I chose the times after careful considerations(the date was the only one available for the lodge not to interfere with a holiday weekend,etc)

Please Keep This Thread Positive with your postings .

JUST A NOTE TO MY FELLOW SOUTHEASTERN NEW YORK ICE FISHERMEN:

Last year, me and a couple of other ice-fanatics spent considerable time trying to set up a Pre-Season get together, just like this one. The "Weather Gods" were against us, predicting a major snowstorm (which never happened), and only four or five of you showed up at Gander Mtn.

Those of us that DID show up got the opportunity to meet and spend some fun time with guys we had been speaking to - on line - for years, but never had the chance to meet in person. We talked about fishing in OUR AREA of NY, exchanged ideas, places to fish, and made some good personal friends.

I KNOW IT'S DEER SEASON (BUT NOT FOR ANOTHER WEEK) !!! I HUNT TOO !! BUT THIS MEETING IS IMPORTANT - AND WORTHWHILE.

Do yourselves a big favor..... Hop in your car and spend some quality time with your fellow Ice Fishermen...... YOU WON'T BE SORRY. And Gander usually has some nice gear to look at too !!!

I plan on attending and bringing a few other as well. I think starting at 10am and going till 2 or 3pm would be better. But thats just me. I plan on bringing some items to show off.
Please let us know if the time changes to a earlier one so I can pass on the information.

I'm workin on putting my second deer in the freezer, so I hope to be there. Work is the only thing to get in the way as this point. Novembers schedule hasn't been posted yet.

You may not have gotten much of a storm there last year, but where I am we got lots of ice on the roads. I hope the ice gods put it where it belongs this year, on the lakes.

Just to give everyone an idea of what I will be bringing to the event. Arctic Armor float suit, two styles of tip downs, NO.8 Fishing Code Blue ultra light in-line combo. Notebooks and pens for those who wish to take notes,name tags, cold drink cups, Pepsi (regular and diet), cooler with ice .
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you be nice to get to know some of the people who post about SENY ice fishing.

Any thing that you use that is unique ...could be a technique ...old or new ...or any topic that you have knowledge in or want knowledge on .. a hot beverage ...a DD is just 1 mile east of Gander on 211E .

Thanks for all the responses...if all goes according to plan I should have a Power Point presentation or two .

Lots of new gear to discuss ....my last trip to Gander I noticed that some gear was being displayed ...not just old stock.. seen some of the 2015 lures etc.

DUE TO A SCHEDULING ERROR BY GANDER MTN I HAVE TO CHANGE THE DATE AND TIME
OF THE SENY PRE SEASON ICE GATEHERING THE NEW DATE AND TIME IS NOVEMBER 9th at 10 AM .
I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCOVEINENCE THIS WILL CAUSE ANY ICE SHANTY MEMBERS AND GUESTS .
