Not sure about honeoye but canandaigua is hit and miss for perch. Friday we went out of the the NW corner out to 22 ft and caught 43 between 2 of us. We went back yesterday same holes and only caughcaught 17 but the next ce thing is there were all over 11"+. I think we went off Butler rd off west lake.

Where do you park to get on the ice at Butler Rd ?

The lot is actually at the Museum up the hill. It holds about 15 cars or so. Access is down the hill, across West Lake Rd., down the stairs and over the breakwall. Watch out for the hole off the breakwall cut by the CVFD for rescue practice. I don't know if they marked it or not. You'll have to go North along the shore line to get on due to the shove ice.

as of 1 1/2 weeks ago a majority of the lake was still open water...i woul. Yez strongly suggest not venturing out deep with out help and appropriate gear...we were fishing next to open water for the perch at the north end last week, so no it has not been frozen for a while!  Yes it's frozen now but it has not been for that long.
