Finally lit up the portable with LEDs
« on: Jan 24, 2014, 05:58 AM »
Check out the video:

Part List:

Northern Bright Lights
> 4' Light Strip - http://shop.northernbrightlights.com/Northern-BRIGHT-Lights-12-Volt-WHITE-LED-LIGHT-STRIPS-NBLWLS.htm
> Controller, which was on sale when I bought it for $9.99 - http://shop.northernbrightlights.com/12-Volt-INLINE-DIMMER-CONTROLLER-with-REMOTE-CONTROL-NBL9005.htm

Battery tray from Gander Mountain - http://clamoutdoors.com/ice_fishing/http-clamcorp-com-ice-fishing-shelter-acc/lights-fan-power/battery-bracket-new.html

The lights on the tub of the sled are Clams sled lights, which I don't think you need, but if you want them here is the link. The strip light above is more than what you need. - http://clamoutdoors.com/ice_fishing/http-clamcorp-com-ice-fishing-shelter-acc/lights-fan-power/led-sled-lights.html

I had a spare flasher battery, so that was no cost to me for the project. Some wires, connectors, and zip ties and your good to go!

That is pretty awesome.  I am going to have to save this one for when I get a flip over next year.

Pretty cool. Love the remote.
I was thinking I should carry my boat lighting theme over to my shack.

Nice looking set up there Yankee! You defintely will not be stumbling around in the dark! RG, putting your boat in your shack is going to take up a lot of space isn't it?!?!?  ;D Gave me an idea for my boat.

I have a bunch of the LEDs . I'm in the lighting business. They're super bright though. That's why I like the dimmer idea. Cool stuff.

I don't fish a lot at night, but I'm generally on ice before dawn. Mostly I use my clip on lights.

But after seeing this setup I may have to install some fixed lighting.

RG - I have my Lake Ontario boat set-up with white and blue LEDs. LEDs are getting addicting!

Want some red? ;D

They are addicting, especially when you have a warehouse full of them.
