new Tipup
« on: Dec 09, 2005, 11:51 AM »
I Saw a program titled "midwest outdoors" and they had a segment on icefishing which showed a product called the "Automatic icefisherman"  I liked the idea that it would set the hook so you wouldn't have to hurry to the flag.  It also has a jigging rod and reel. Has anybody had any experience using this product?

Thanks,
Lottie

This thing is a cheap piece of plastic  with a $5 reel and a $5 rod. And it costs $50. Go look at one. You can build one yourself for about $5 worth of material. Slammer is another of this type of tip up. Buy there kit and you get $5 worh of hardware and instructions. Remember.......most of this stuff is made to catch fishermen, not fish.
