Keeping ice hole open
« on: Dec 23, 2013, 09:47 AM »
I'm planning to use a portable hub shelter to spear from. Will pack out the shelter when I quit. What's the best way to keep the hole from freezing up too thick while I'm gone ? I've tried fiberglass insulation, but it's very messy. What say you?

I use this:

Foam board insulation.  Works perfect.  Precut a piece and it'll last you all year.
