Finally on the ice. N Minnesota

Yesterday I snowmobiled down to my favorite lake and I thought it would still be a tough go with
all of the snow we had but to my amazement the snow pushed the ice down and the water up 10 inches of clear ice and 8 inches of snow melt ice.
Put the shack out and drove my F150 to it this morning and speared a 5lb.
So it was a good start.

Great day on the lake today had over 20 fish come into the hole today and my youngest stuck a 34'' pike with a huge head.

Female, it was full of eggs and had an empty stomach but she came in and smashed the decoy and shook the hell out of it then took off. Then came back about 10 sec later and hit it again and snapped the decoy line and just sat there long enough to get the spear in her back. And as soon as she was hit she spit my favorite decoy to the depths. Plus the decoys had not moved in 1/2 an hour so a smash and grab was not expected. Overall it was a strange encounter but the most exciting one yet.
