Ashton Reservoir
« on: Dec 10, 2013, 06:39 PM »
This is one that no-one seems to ever talk about.  Since they finished the upgrades on the dam I am wondering if the fishing has improved?  Also, can anyone tell me how to actually access the lake area?  I have never accessed it for ice-fishing.  I googled it, and found a few reports from years ago saying it might freeze unevenly and be a little dangerous.  I am just looking for other areas to ice fish that might not be so far away.  If you need to PM me, that's fine.  Thanks.

Hmm, never have I ice fished there. I don't see that section listed in the special rules for the Henry's Fork, so I guess we can assume it is open year round with no restrictions?

That's what I read also, just says to the dam, and then from the hwy 20 bridge up, so I read that as just general fishing rules on the reservoir.

Agreed.  Dam to Hwy 20 normal rules.  And the state record Brown came out of there, not that long ago (2007).
