Ella fish trap, brilliant piece of equipment!
« on: Oct 31, 2013, 12:26 PM »
Just wanted to tip you about this fishtrap we´ve got in scandinavia.

It works like an inverted umberella and can easily be put through an 8 inch hole, and THEN unfolded to work as a trap under the ice standing on the lakebottom!

I use it through out the whole winter to catch my livebaits. I put it in on sunday evening (after the weekend crowd has gone home), just a few slices of bread in the trap as bait. Collect it on friday evening (before the weekend crowd arrives.

http://www.ellafishing.com/mjardar.htm (the text is in swedish and unfortunately they havent gotten around to write in english yet (but im glad to translate if you have some questions.

(Just like to point out that i havce no connection what so ever to the company making these. Just a tip to fellow  ice fishermen).

Um. Well, the trap itself is around 100$ (plus/minus 10 if you shop around a bit). The hard part is the shipping.

Shipping from Sweden is a pricey thing unfortunately. Somewhere inbetween 60-70$.

Email them at [email protected] and check if they´ve got any suppliers on your side of the pond.

If all else fails, PM me and i´ll help you out.
