Yep, I think our countdown is over. There is fishable ice out there on the smaller lakes. I heard this morning that Sheridan is frozen along the hiway up to the south beach!  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

I was up by buffalo this weekend and Gardner lake was about half froze over but not fishable yet.

Glad to see you keep the countdown going Roy!  I haven't been on Ice Shanty in a while.  Look forward to meeting up with you on the ice.  Did you get some red spikes yet?  I had the rooster get me 1000, so if you want some, let me know.

I was gonna order some today, but glad you had the Rooster do it for you. I didn't know they would do that or I would have been ordering my "earlies" from them.

I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't wait. I opened my ice fishing season today. Just an hours worth and didn't catch anything but it didn't matter. Just great to be out. Ice was alright. 4" but I didn't venture too far. Saturday it's on like Donkey Kong.

Way to go jbuss79! Lucky duck, I'll bet that felt good to walk on water. Getting on first ice and not catching anything is still awesome. Its like preseason football, you're just glad the drought is over.  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

Im getting just as anxious as the next guy. But from everything I have seen so far, it will be a stretch to have fishable ice by thanksgiving. Small sloughs still have open water, and the creaks are still flowing. 

But who knows. With the temps dropping fast and a high of 0 on Saturday morning. WE could see a safe 4 inches by Dec 1.

The countdown was very accurate again this year!! Yesterday was the day!! Waubay lake has been drilled! 5+ inches and growing!
