Finished the base and gave my bro a job to do. I let him start painting I chose the color black because easily visible and might heat the  shack up a bit more.

Just some advise for you,  I have round holes in my 6x8 shack in the floor,  I cut the bottom off a five gal. bucket so it slides right down the hole , so it fits flush with the floor. It works great to keep the wind from blowing in my shack and also fits flush with hole in the ice.   I  also keeps you from kicking stuff done hole that you down want to loose.   I also kept my pail covers from the pails, so when Im done fishing for the day I just put the covers back on the buckets.   The ice wont be  frozen in your holes bad the next time you use your shack.  Have fun with your new shack, I sure do.

Keep it as Open as possible and try to have everything surve more than one purpose. You can never have too much room. And get ready to want to build another one. Lol . Looking good so far.

1. Whats going to be your source of heat?

2. What do you plan to pull it with?

3. Do you plan to lock it?

I have hads shacks that where 4x6 and not big enough if you have kids fish with you when your out there..  I think a 5x6 will do the trick for you so you have a little room to do some jigging in the shack and dont kill each other out there.  And will still fit on a snow moble trailer when you hall it..  Good teflone skis are the trick for halling a bigger shack.  Its well worth finding some for your skis.

Just a few thoughts from my experiences:

If your using propane as a fuel, a vent of some type near the peak will help keep moisture out. Remember H2o is a product of combustion.

If you plan to lock it, make sure your door hinges are installed so that you cant take the screws out from the outside, even with a lock on it, they will just take the hinges off the door. If that's not possible just Gaul the heck out of the screw heads so no one can take them out, but also remember no one includes you!

Looking good!

I have a carbon dioxide  detector in my shack near the sealing,   I also run a propaine wall heater in my shack,  the detectors are cheap to buy and cold save your life ,  when your running your heater all day on a cold day outside.  I
