One year up in Leech Lake at the Eel Pout festival I heard the winner caught a ginormouse pout on a flashing light bulb he yanked off one of those hazard signs from the road.

I took a small stick one time, sprayed it with WD-40, and got a perch within 10 seconds.

I caught a togue on a live mouse.........we had 4 in our tackle box, and apparently they are cannibals, cause' only one was left alive in the morning! the others were hacked up pretty good ;D

A old/timer told me to try the red pcs of ChuckWagon dog food. I tried it -2 trout and 12 perch.

If not, I don't think I'll be visiting their shanty ;D.  Used some italian venison sausage one time last year.  caught two perch and a small walleye.

Not ice fishing but stuffed several little pieces of alka-seltzer in a tube jig and caught several crappie. bear

I`ve seen fish grab cig. butts with so much force they jumped right out of the water when they would not go for anything else.Shrimp for lakers work well.gummie bears for lakers work well. Pork fat for lakers.

The weirdest bait I've used was a hotdog slices into little pieces, and soaked in vanilla, caught a pretty big bass on it to ;D
