Got my new one yesterday.  I chose a black one.  It is a heck of a bit lighter than the old one. Hope it keeps stuff hot.

The new one's working great!!  Couple of days out daylight to dark, still a hot cup for the ride home.  Evidently didn't need the two lb's of charcoal?  The pour thru spout is really handy as well as the wider fill neck.  Will work great for soup, etc..  My faith restored.......

Do you have to send them the old one?   Mine still works but it is all dented up...

when you call. don't tell them about the dents. they will claim normal wear and tear and you will get zip, ziltch, nadda.

You may get wear and tear just cuz of the age. I got that answer for one made in 1978.

It does require a little advance planning - BOIL water in a tea kettle until it whistles - pour it into the thermos - put the cap on - 30 minutes later dump the thermos (Carefully!) and put HOT coffee/HOT hot chocolate/HOT soup in thermos - 2-3 hours on the ice/in the woods and you could still burn yourself - 24 hours later it will still be warm!

it's  the  numbers  on the  bottom  they ask  for ,  i  got  mine  replaced  because  it  didn't work ...but  if  yours  is working  then tring to get a  new one  is  stealing
