So did anybody actually get to put a face to a name or did everybody just set in their traps and post to this forum on their smartphones?

I met johnsonbr (Brandon), ULKing (Derek), Cartmatt (Matt), and a brief face to face with a few others including Terry, a frequent lurker to this forum.  Also got to chat with Mike Luben, the local conservation officer.  Not to mention I brought OKCableguy with me and I had met PowerHour (Skylar) a couple weeks ago and had fished with him all day yesterday.  Hope to meet a few more today.

We are currently straight east of the camper, out in open water between the trees and west shore.  Dont know the last time I have marked so many fish....  and not had a SINGLE BITE.

My God man! The Vex had fish on it about 60% of the time. They would chase everything I threw at them and go back down to the bottom again. Got to Wanahoo at 07:00 and left at 16:00: 2 14" bass 1 12" cat and 20 dink gills. I talked to 3 groups and asked if they we there with Ice Shanty and none of them had any idea what I was talking about. JAM3S I was gonna stop by the camper but you had peaced out. Had lots of cold drinks and cooked a hot meal on the ice it was a good day.

Met Jam3S & Okcableguy Sat morning when I woke them up with me Diesel.

A dozen or so dink Gills & 4 7" to 8" Crappie.  Fished from daylight to 10am & called it quits.

Never did catch up with any members, but I did me meet a handful of lurkers.  Did my best to talk them into signing on to the forum, they had a ton of advice about ice fishing in general and may have helped on a few lakes closer to my work. Glad to hear you made it out alright fish2live.

Oh yeah, marked fish constantly all weekend.  Most of them would even chase up or down a foot or more, tried all sorts of combos with waxies and gulp minnows.  I have had luck there before, just sadly not this time.

For what it's worth, that's what I experienced out at Owldorado earlier in the week as well. I just couldn't dial in the right presentation there either. A few bluegills would come up from just off the bottom, but the suspended crappie would sniff and shy away

I didn't get the chance to make it out but it sounds like everyone had a good time...except for the slow bite lol. I was at Wanahoo last week and the bite was the same way, fish on the flasher, had lots of follows, but no takers. It's been that way at a lot of lakes I've been to, fish are starting to get finicky.

Wow totally opposite of what I had happen to me at owldorado all last week.... I hit it 4 out of 7 days and never had a problem with the crappies and gills doing that....  Fished about 2 hours each day both mornings and evenings and caught 75 or more fish each time out there....  Bait and lure selections didn't seem to matter.... they were drilling everything!  Watch out as there is 3 spots of open water there now!
