Friday at 11 Mile

Met "B" and Jeff early. A brisk -16 F. NO WIND! Extremely slow day. Ice was 11" thick. 3" more than two days before. I didn't even mark a fish until 9:40 AM. I caught two trout, the largest 17".
Jeff caught a few including a nice football. "B" landed a hammer handle on a tip-up and that was the only pike of the day. "B" caught a pretty 21" bow later in the day that made up for the slow
action. Tight lines and Happy Hollandaise!

Nice catch! I would love to learn how to catch trout ice fishing. I caught a brown trout in upstate NY on a tip-up with a large minnow when i was trying to get at some large pike. I plan on going to 11 Mile Monday morning with one of my friends who hasnt been on ice before.

We were there also.  Pounded 'em pretty good.  Kasty caught 99%.
