I actually use my old deer stand harness to pull my gear. It's the style that didn't have the leg straps, so pulling is comfortable. I also use it as my deer drag
X 2 on what balls posted. Works great for me.
Were can I find a great sled pulling harness? I have been Googling and searching but I can't find one I like. I want padded sholder straps, a chest strap and a waist strap with quick clips and a loop in the rear for a carabiner to conect to with any length rope I was for towing.I can't find one.I am at the point of looking at back packs I can mod. Thanks for any help.
Don't over think this thing.............I took 20' (or thereabouts) of 2" nylon web strap and made a loop; I had it laying around, OK? I put a snap clip/carabiner on the ends that are joined. Take another piece of strap, rope what have you and join the loop in the middle leaving oh, 18-24 inches between sides. Step inside the loop, put the top over your head across the back of your neck so the "straps" come down in front of your shoulders. Adjust the cross strap for comfort across your chest/waist. Pull your sled effortlessly.....Super easy and cheap. If you need to slip out and get help for hills or deep snow there's plenty of pull for two pullers to grab. Not sure if this is easily visualized. Maybe I'll have to get some pics....../m
I've always been learly of a harness. I'm only hand pulling early and late ice for the most and if I by chance go through the last thing I want is a 100# + anchor tied to me at that point. A long rope could handle that and keep the weight away but it would still mess with my head nonetheless.
