Public Ice fishing spots near Rockford...where are they

Other than Pierce & Olson Lakes, where are some decent public ice fishing spots near/in Rockford, IL?  It seems that there are a ton of private ponds, but not too many public spots.  Any help is appreciated.

well you have four lakes out of on rt70 west of rockford and spencer park lakes in belvidere also last year I seen people fishing the ponds on orth rd by  gensler gardens there on the north and south side of orth east of argyle rd

Geneva, Delavan, and the Fox chain are all within a reasonable drive of you.

Shabbona it's a bit south east. Le-aqua-na is a bit west. Rochelle has a little man made lake, too.

Lake Sule here in Rochelle not a bad lake, but usually pretty windy so bring ice anchors.If you ever make it down give me a shout and I can show you around the lake.

Thanks guys......all of these mentioned I have either heard of or tried.  I was hoping there was something else I have not heard of. BTW, the ponds off of Orth are not public and ice fishing is not allowed.....already checked into this one.

Any of you guys ever go out to lake victoria in south beloit? its real close by my house but i have never fished it. do guys fish this lake? i take the dog to the park there quite often but hardly ever see anybody fishing. any info would be appreciated.

Where are pierce & olsen lakes? Do you know if there is safe ice on these lakes ?

went to lake olson yesterday - fished 10 fow near dam - 30 gill & one crappie, all small. ice was 3 to 3 1/2 inches and crystal clear.
