perch/walleye/pike/crappie
« on: Nov 09, 2012, 09:33 PM »
I'm looking to find one or two good lakes for perch/walleye/pike/crappie. The lake doesn't have to have every specie, also something that is not overly far from billings would be preferred cause of gas budget.
safe ice, tight lines and god bless!

I hope to make a trip out there this winter(if we get any ice) or in the spring when they move into the trees. A guy I work with showed me 2 pictures of a 14inch black and 15 inch white crappie he and his dad caught this fall. both fish are getting mounted.
safe ice, tight lines and god bless!

Nelson has perch, pike, northern.  Tiber, Fresno, Peck, (Hell Creek) have same...some would say these are "close" to Billings.  There are quite a few lakes in central and north central MT with what you seek. Up here in NW Montana we have everything but walleye in several lakes.

"Not overly far" from Billings is relative, for you it might be 25-30 miles, for me, it might be 200...so know that what you seek is available, but you will need to cover some dirt to find it.

Be sure to come to the Billings Cabelas on Dec 8th for Ice Days...at least you will find fellow ice heads to network with and maybe share some travel expenses...

See you there!

If I\'m not fishing, I\'m probably thinking about fishing...And if I\'m thinking about fishing, I\'m probably not getting much else done so, I might as well go fishing...Yeah, I just said that!
