GIVING UP----WHY YOU SHOULDN'T [pic]
« on: Mar 09, 2012, 06:58 PM »
Boy I can't believe the # of people giving up on the ice fishing. The way I look @ it, it's like @ the beginning of the season. You have to do some scouting around to find places to fish, just as Jon & combsey did. I fished today on 17" of good ice, the shore is still good, I know of @ least 4 more lakes like it. I plan on fishing as long as I can.

4 bucks a gallon.     That's why it cost so much for my fishing trips.    Heading back to st larwance this weekend.   Sorry Jeff. Won't be joining you guys.  Maybe Sunday on my way back home I'll stop by.  Trying to hit 100 eyes. And I'm 17 short with less then a week left.     Still a lot of leaker waters with safe ice.

I avoid the crowds by trying to get out during the week. I go fishing for peace of mind, its nice and quiet inside the blue line during the week.

I do as well but it's getting close to the end of pike, walleye, & tiger muskie season so I want to get as much in before Thursday.

What Laker waters are good to go...I would be coming up solo, so if anyone wants some company, let me know.
I will bring food, bait, beverages and whatever else is needed for some company and tips. I fish alone and NEVER give anyone info from people willing to share with me!!!
Thanks,
AW

Indian Lake has 16-20 inches of ice.  Public access on the southern end near the Indian Lake Islands campsite, and a pull off near roadside campsites on the right of Route 30 (1/2 mile north of the campsite entrance).  Also 4th Lake in Inlet.  Access at state boat launch on Route 28

i'm down here in the catskills in sullivan county, and just left  11" of ice from water level down. didn't measure slush etc.  and solid to shore, no planking.  ahh...the peacefulness without the bandwagon sheep that like to moan on here about no ice all year.  they must enjoy that better than fishing.  good for me and my fry pan. ;D
