Looks like an early spring

I must say that even though we still have over 2 feet of snow and lots of ice.  Seems that we may have an early spring, I need to check what I need for the boat.  I think open water will be coming sooner than we think all though I hope not as I want to hardwater fish till the end of March.  How early you think the ice will be out compared to normal.

April can be a cruel month but I think we will be fishing by the 25th (April).
I'm just here to read what all the experts have to say.

Yes, April (and May) can be cruel and cool. Many times my wife and I wear our ice fishing clothes and boots when we are ice-out trolling for salmon and togue! Guess we need to figure out how to pitch a shanty with heat in our open boat ........

Usually ice out is around 2nd week of May, if I had to guess this year I'ld say May 7. A little earlier but I'm anxious to hit those top water brookies that haven't been fished all winter.
