6" Lazer shaft is bent

I noticed that my auger was taking alot of effort to cut this past weekend, after checking the blades (sharp enought to cut the skin...)  I noticed that the shaft in the screw section is bent slightly, not sure how it happened. 
Is there anything I can do about this bend in the shaft or am I stuck in need of a new screw?

The flute is welded to the shaft so it will be very hard to straighten it. If it came this way I'd give them a call. These are quite expensive augers these days. It's okay to expect to receive good quality for your money.

This is closer to 8 years old, I have had this auger for a while and am not sure what happened over the last year or so...

don't know if it helps or not, but the shaft of my 8" nils is bent pretty severely and that hasn't effected the cutting.  Is it possible that whatever bent the shaft may also have bent the blade mounting angle?

You sure the cutting edge on the blades didn't up? If you have a spare set of blades to throw on and try that would rule out some things.
