Gear is packed, ready for the a.m., and...
« on: Jan 27, 2012, 07:41 PM »
I found a bonus while checking things out.  Haven't been into my ice fishing gear for apparently a few more years than I thought.  Tip up gear, that is.  And what to my unbelieving eyes did I find, not 1, not 2, but 5 sewing needles that aren't made anymore!!  You know, the six inch  long and flexible ones for  threading the line through baitfish?  A little steel wool and they are just as smooth as the day I bought them.  Took a little nail file from my daughter to the ends of my flags, nice and smooth flowing now.....my friend in Conn who i used to fish with is jealous, he doesnt have any more of them, and we were told the company went under.  Wonder how much I could get for them on a tourney weekend? ;D
Silly rookies, traps are for animals!!  Tilts are for kids!!  Fishermen use tip ups!

it's looking like Dillenbach or Highgate springs perhaps.
