Lake st catherine
« on: Jan 26, 2012, 09:50 AM »
My grandparents have a summer cabin on the lake and I was thinking about making the drive up there but wanted to know how the ice was before I drive 4 hours from boston, any one know how the ice is? Main lake or lily pond?

I was there last weekend on 3" of black ice.  Don't know how it held up with this warm weather.  There were a couple of shanty's on the little lake.  If you go out, bring a spud bar and be careful.
A bent rod is a good rod!

I drove by on tuesday and there were several groups fishing on the main lake. I didn't go out onto the ice myself.

From the Perch grounds and south the lake has been frozen over for a little longer than the main lake..not suprised by atv's out there. Gonna want to be awful careful on the rest for a while.

people need to be careful on the perch grounds, there are some spots scattered here and there that didn't freeze untill last sunday night.

finlessbrown is right on with that statement....it did not all set up at once and there were some setbacks after it tryied to lock up...
