I guess some people were getting a few at the beach this weekend.  When we say shallow we are talking 1 foot or less, or thats where we have got them in the past.

Yeah i tried both the boat launch and the other side of the lake.  I could see some swim by the hole at night in about 1' of water or less every once in a while, but they wanted nothing to do with my bait.  I know the guy who caught that fish and it was real. It was 18 Lbs. 40".

Is it legal to catch Smelt at Caspian through the ice? I can't figure out these new regs on personally harvested bait fish.

Can you transport them to another body of water if they're dead? Sorry 'bout this, but, I'm confused about the regs and I've been told differing views on this subject.

Don't leave any body of water with any live bait .  :o Dead smelt for dinner are fine.
