When I do wash my wool and I rarely do I use woolite, cold water and the most gentle cycle on the machine.  Hang to dry and your good.  I mainly use wool outer layers so that is why I rarely wash them...unless i dump a chili cheese dog on myself while ice fishing

Same here, I have gloves and pants that haven't been washed in 15 years! I just brush them off and air them out...

Geez Bart, 15 years with no washing and I could Smell you were here! ;D

I wash mine with cold water and woolite and hang to dry. Fantastic material and I also love my red checkered "Buffalo" patterns and don't much care to make a fashion statement as long as I am warm. You can't go wrong with wool and goose down.
If I agreed with you we would both be wrong!

The new LLBean catalog just arrived. I like the tight fitting sweaters on the female models. So yes I like wool.

Wool retains up to 85% of their insulating qualities when wet.

Gamealot, it saves on hangers it stand up on their own! Most of mine are surplus military wool pants...

jig jig THUMP  not a problem with the "goofy plaid", no offense taken.  Besides I knew exactly what you were talking about the second I read it.  Thanks for the info.
