Burbot bash 2019

This fishing derby, January 25-27, 2019, is an annual Flaming Gorge Fishing Contest! It aims to diminish the population of illegally stocked, invasive burbot in the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Anglers of all ages, in teams of up to four, can compete for over $31,000 in cash prizes while helping to purge the infestation of burbot in the beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Prizes are awarded in youth categories, as well as in adult groups for the most fish reeled in and the biggest fish caught. Expert and novice ice fishers can all enjoy a few days on the frozen Flaming Gorge.

Rules, online registration and website updates will be made over the next month and should be ready in early December 2018.

For more information and to register for the event, contact the Flaming Gorge Chamber of Commerce at www.flaminggorgecountr y.com, keep an eye on the Burbot Bash Facebook page, or call 800-FL-GORGE.

Date And Time
Sat, February 23, 2019

8:00 AM – 2:30 PM MST

Description
DWR biologists placed tags on approximately 1,000 yellow perch in Fish Lake recently, and there are still plenty of tagged fish in from previous years. Try your luck at catching a tagged perch, win one of several contests and win prizes from our drawing at our annual Fish Lake Perch Tournament! If you catch a tagged fish after the tournament (between Feburary 24 and August 31), you can take it to the Fish Lake Resort Store, Bowery Haven Resort or the Fish Lake Lodge for a chance to win a firearm donated by Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife. The prize drawing will be held August 31 at 3:00 p.m.

The more tagged fish you catch, the more chances you have to win.
