One disappointing thing with ice  smallys is they are lethargic. A scrawny laker
would pull a nice 3 pounder all over the lake. Nice early season action,
looking forward to trout season with the buds..

I catch some smallies through the ice and then are not normally lethargic.  They seem to run like crazy where we are.  They are coming up out of 25FOW, wonder if it varies by lake.

On a serious note, the main part of Hortonia has a good six+ inches and she should be good to go for openning of Bass Saturday.

I fished a private pond today and  my friend and I caught 3 smallies and I lost one that was stripping line.  It had to be 10+ lbs. but I lost it at the hole.  The wind sucked.
