were they menominee or whitefish? the whitefish might come in the fall to spawn.

there is some ice in the harbor, BUT it is only 2-3 inches and most of it is just the chunks that froze together, walked out 100 feet , nice and solid and then one poke and my spud was through half inch of crappy ice, not worth srowning for

I fished in the harbor on Saturday and Sunday. The fishing was slow, but the ice was good (5 - 6 inches).

5 solid inches in most spots up to first break at porters island. kept 5 decent fish on monday ranging from 17-22". we had 4"-5" walleye suckers and minnows but all the fish were caught on suckers. no hits at all on the minnows all day.

Guys--If you're into keeping splake, remember there's a new 15" limit there this year.

Took a ride with my wife to Copper Harbor on Saturday to see the Copper Dog races. The harbor was ice as far as I could see, had snow on it and it looked good. I asked a couple locals who had no report on thickness, but one guy said there was 12" by the marina. Should be good to go...

I heard it was the place to be fishing, but idk i havent been up there. The wind we had the other night might have broke everything up but i need to get up there soon. Nothin better than superior fishing.
