checked out a few places this afternoon

mt hope pond - locked up, but only 1.5"
egbert's lake - locked up, only 2"
oak ridge reservoir - open
splitrock reservoir - open
pond on green pond rd @ wildcat ridge wma - 2"

decided that the only way that i would find safe(ish) ice would be if i got high... in elevation!  so i headed up into sussex county and found a pond/marsh at ~1300' elevation... 3"!!  rock and roll!



only fished an hour, had a couple perch come check out the bait, but no takers... at least i got out.  too bad all this ice will be gone by the weekend...

That's not surprising... I checked it at about 1 pm and it was not looking too good.

Didn't check that but I was around the corner at Budd this morning. Started with 2 1/2 of solid black and by 11:30 it started to honeycomb and spider so I packed it up. By noon as I was driving around the lake pools of water were already forming on top of the ice and when I got home I was comfortable wearing a tshirt while cleaning out my cooler in the backyard...not good.

Same here! everything started to melt as of 11 am when the temps bumped up. Def not looking good for the lil ice we had :(
