The snow should melt today and part of tomorrow then refreeze the next few cold nights should make it survive for another weekend :).

helgermite probably smoked the gills, 3 to 31/2 inches this afternoon and windy. gill bite is slowing down a bit but still got a few. i was bummed it was far too windy for tipdowns and i had just spent 4 bucks on minnows to catch some crappies.

Fished 1/2/12 from 330pm-630pm out of the State launch, I was the only one out.  Lots of big old holes, weeds coming threw the ice and a light dusting of snow made things real interesting. With temperatures hovering at or above freezing 1/3 Could make things tricky for Saturday 1/4.         Good Luck! :o   That,That, and That being said, :roflmao: Maybe there should be a swimming contest this weekend. "Don't forget a towel!"
This kind of sounds like a Report.

Could someone please explain why all of the posts are getting deleted?  I go way out of my way to check and report on the ice if no conditions are posted. Its costs me $20 or more in gas and 2 hours drive time but i do it to help fellow fishermen out. This is the general forum not reports only so i don't see where any rules were broken to warrant the posts to get deleted but this will probably get deleted too so if you need a report send me a pm or e-mail to [email protected] and i will do my best to help you out

not one post regarding reports and conditions was removed posts asking about ice conditions are. Especialy when above asking post there is a report. Asking guys to go fishing does not belong on R&C use PM's. Simple rules which very few felt they should follow.

I completely agree with that on the r&c boards but someone asked about the derby this weekend and i answered his question in this thread and its deleted. Also btw the ice is border line PROBABLY plenty safe but as the only source of income for my family i am going to sit this one out. Imo it needs a few more cold nights to get me back out there

Just back from Macks. Ice is still 3-4" and looks good. You will need creepers to be safe. Fishing was way down. Had to work at it for medium size gills and a few small crappies.

Ha!  great idea.

hoping it is fishable this weekend.  got the itch bad and i've got a new eskimo z51 auger i can't wait to try out.  i know a power auger is ridiculous on ice that thick but i don't care.  sounds like it's been getting hammered though...

this will be my last report unless they unlock the site. i live on this lake and have fished it 40 years. have always tried to post up to date reports on ice to keep every one safe so here we go the ice is from 1.5" to6" depends on were you are. off macks there are many old holes that are big enough to fall in. the presser crack is unsafe stay clear. it on east side north of macks run all the way across the lake less than 2" of ice Friend want through there today one foot only. not sure how wide this spot is. would stay away from state launch side untill a good cold spell. good fishing a be safe.

Whoever put the lock on the Silver Lake conditions page at 5:18am is doing a great disservice to the members who fish there and would like to know how conditions are on Silver Lake before driving there to fish......

Why don't you go to the proper area and complain THERE, instead of on the general thread...it's all explained there. Oh, it also tells you how to follow the rules, too.
Good job, Cold_Feet.

SE Minnesota   Really! Why is a person from SE Minnesota concerned about a post for a NY lake. I never even look at the Silver Lake thread and I live an hour away. You and cold feet must have your panties tied in a knot.
