I went by the channels around noon today and just didn't look safe for me to step on. Lots of wet spots just didn't want to fall with the back still not doing very good. What really surprised me today was. I drove around the south side of bass lake and the was ice on the south flat. DID NOT STOP WOULDN'T THINK IT WOULD BE SAFE EITHER.

Is there snow on the ice at the channels?? If so, you are right it probably is not safe. Even most of the places with bare ice on channels still do not have 2" of ice and snow on top only slows the process.
