I really want to stud my Mickey's, but I'm nervous about puncturing the trapped felt in the sole.
If you look at a cut through of a Mickey, you'll see how thin the rubber really is on the bottom in the tread section, and once you puncture that air/felt layer in the sole, they're done.
I also saw on here a guy got a few sizes up and put a Sorel/Kamik type liner in them - that's a stroke of brilliance if you're not walking far. As it is, I feel like I'm Frankenstien with properly fitting Mickey's, tromping around in boots two sizes up would be very humorous.
