Ice conditions in Rochester Dover area
« on: Jan 03, 2012, 01:13 PM »
Does anyone have any information on some safe ice in the Rochester Dover area?  Don't need any secret spots or anything i just want to get out on the ice.  Any help would be awesome.

I went but where I wanted to go was wide open again so I took a stroll into the woods and got a coyote to feel the wrath!

Went out today looking for spots to ice fish.  Didn't find much ice, but I'm sure that will change in the next week or so.  Ayers has very little near the edges and the water level is way down.  Drove all around Bow Lake and not much there either.  I seen allot of areas that would be awesome to fish, but there's no excess.  Mostly wall to wall cottages with private land.  It would be nice to have some snow so we can drag the sleds through the woods.  I may try Bellamy later in the week. :(  Better days are near. :)

I went out Sunday afternoon, small pond just south of Alton circle, and found 5". Had a good day fishing. Drove around Bellamy res, that still looked sketchy monday. I think the section east of rt 9 should be ok real soon with this cold snap. My local hot spot in the woods of strafford is now fine with a good 5"+ as of 4pm today, will be fishing there wednesday, and thursday. I am going to check on Baxter lake tomorrow after fishing. Will let you know.

I'm planning on checking the bellamy. Hoping it has fishable Ice for the weekend. Traveled 100miles north to fish a small pond this past weekend the weather was disgustung, I think it was like 45+ when I headed north Sunday morning.

I'll probably check the bellamy most days, to see how it's coming along.

Use to fish it often. Larries, sallies, pickeral, and yellow perch.

Get there early and use BIG shiners and you will have a lot of action.

It's 6 - 8 ft across the whole lake. There's a depth chart on F&G's website.

Turns into shantyville once there's enough ice!

Good morning.  New here to the site.  Live in Barrington and travel accross the Bellamy a couple times a day.  One side- East/North has been sealed up for a few days.  With this cold weather it should be making ice.  The West/South side has been getting hit with the high winds and it's been open several hundred feet from the bridge.  The wind comes under the bridge there and has kept  the ice from freezing.

use to be a stop on the list every year...i had a few banner days there, but haven't been in awhile...
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways
