Battery operated aerator. Most any bait shop should have them.

I use 110 Air Bubbles that I got from Cabelas and I keep my shiners in my basement so the water stays cool without freezing and they do well and are always very active when I get to the lake.

Also keep in mind that water temperature is pretty critical. Quick, large swings in temperature either way isn't good and will kill bait. Try and keep/store bait at temperatures in the mid 30's to low 40's.

Cold water seemed to be the biggest factor when I used to keep them, even if it ices up a little. A cheap aerator is a good investment too.

I have a 15 dollar bucket and 10 dollar aerator for couple years now and it hasn't let me down.

For a tank, I used an old 150qt cooler with a missing lid. I also put a big can in it, seemed to stress them out less when they had somewhere to hide.

cheap battery powered aerator. 5 gallon bucket(s). I keep them outside during the day and bring em in at night. When I bring em in I take a few tightly packed snow balls and drop em in to keep the temp down. I don't trap my bait but I usually get a few dozen at the beginning of the week so I can go on a whim. Has yet to let me down.

my minnow bucket is insulated which makes it easier to control temp.

I use a large cooler to store bait at home, I use a small bucket while fishing at the lake. An aerator will make all the difference in the world and I also like to add a little Finer Shiner, it seems to help.
