  • Love IceFishing for SMELT,PERCH,BLUEGILLS,CRAPPIE,
Hello my name is Joe and I have my Merchants Marine License from the USCG and I use to do  Fishing charters On Lake Champlain out of Point bay marina . I am also a Die hard Ice fisherman and I do allot of ice fishing for Smelt, Perch, crappie. and sometimes i will fish the local fishing derbies. I dyeing to try out my brand new Double Vision unit from vexilar which is a fl-20 flasher and camera combo which retails for about 1025.00. So i  cant wait to see how this unit is going to work. I am always looking for fishing partners or people who fish allot to give me the lowdown on local fishing spots .
I am headed out fishing tomorrow, and i live in Rutland , Vt .So does anyone have any suggestions? look forward to chatting with you all.
Fish On :)
I do all types of fishing; but I am Die hard Ice angler.
I love Ice Fishing the lakes of Rutland County. Recently moved to NY and now will be Ice fishing the Lakes Of New York.

this message is for campfinit2 .. i fish up north all the time i love memagog for smelt and you cant beat willoughby for lake trout jigging. where do you fish?
team disaster
I have fished Chittenden dam allot its only 15 minutes from house and i heard they are fishing there now , so i might check that place out tomorrow , but just little warning the dam is loaded with perch that very small , it nothing to go up there and catch 50 perch but your biggest perch might be 6 or 7 inches long. there are some nice walleyes in there but you have to work for them and you need to get on the back side or over by the dam to get them this time of year.

I fish the inland sea mostly. Target Pike and eyes but plan to go after trout through the ice more this year.

You catch pike out deep in the inland
Sea? I only ask because our tactic has always been fishing shallow weedy bays and I am interested to hear of other ways.

No not deep. Just didn't want to try spelling Misisquoi. See now you made me try. Also like some of the smaller bays adjacent to deep water.

HAHA its Missisquoi lol, the only reason I can spell it is because that's where I went to highschool!!  But anyway I'm heading out there on Saturday, there was 5 and a half inches out about 200 yards from the shipyard today so I am hoping to get into some pike!!

Personally I have caught pike in 2'-15' of water.  All depends on the body of water and time of season.

Have you ever been out on Lake Cami. Ice is thick enough up there any wheres from 3-6 inches of ice. Fish are biting slow that the only problem. :( Perch are big up there.   :) :) :) :) :)
There was some open water up there at the north end. Just be carefull if u go up there because there is only about a 1 1/2 inches in some places. :o :o :o :o :o

Wiggle,  If you live in the Rut-vegas area then check out Lake Ninevah in Mt. Holly.  There has been a bunch of guys fishing for the past week or so, you can pick up some perch if you move around, good luck.
