Rain vs snow.
« on: Dec 27, 2011, 11:14 AM »
I'm worried sick we won't have enough ice to go out on this ice season. We have had an abundance of rain all year,it is pouring it down right now.I read that 1" of rain = 15" of dry snow, guess I should be thankful,we could have 8' of snow right now.............My wife ask me what all the smudges on the window were from? I confessed,it was me with my face smashed against the window pining for ice :-\

Yes the rain blows,I hunted this morning saw 5 doe passed on shooting any, looking for a buck.I got a new Jiffy pro 4 auger for Xmas and NO ICE IN SIGHT. I really don't think where going to have ice in Pa. this year and if we do,we better make hay, because its going to be a very short season. It's been one wet a-- year here in western Pa.

We are finally getting some ice in NH. a warm up today with some rain and 40 degree temps tonight and it's back to very cold tomorrow night. Don't worry, it will happen!

http://www.intellicast.com/National/Temperature/HighTomorrow.aspxFor whatever reason up here in N. WI. and N. MN we are holding down the fort with below freezing temps. My friend drove his pick up on the ice yesterday staying near shore, I'm not that brave yet. 8+ inches of ice now.
