Looks like I'm going to try to get out this weekend. Supposed to be cold today and tomorrow, so I'm thinking I'll be able to find some decent ice. Anyone else out already?

The 'grapevine' had people out on 3'' in northern Dickinson county earlier this week. I am looking to start getting out early next week. 4" to 5" of good clear ice is more to my comfort level.

There have been a few brave/foolish people out around here, I am going to give it a couple more days before I veture out. I already have plans for Saturaday and Sunday over next weekend to be out on the ice.

Made it out last sunday and then again yesterday. But with all this snow coming i don't know how the ice is gunna hold up.

Anyone on ice in the EUP??? Thinking about venturing out and checking out some lakes tomorrow. How much ice are you guys on? Headed over towards Marquette next weekend for work...any safe ice that way yet?

Checked a few lakes today. Breevort is still open. Found some ponds with 2" of ice. We stood on the ice with no cracking, good solid ice but didnt want to venture out too far due to the open water.

Hopefully the warmer forcasted temps dont hurt too much.

Thanks for the info FishFry. I heard word that Marquette is safe too. Dont know where they fished though.

Its getting there...a bit later than I hoped for though.

I plan on getting out again sunday that will be the third trip out this season so far not quite sure where i am heading yet. After this cold weather everywhere should be good to go inland wise.

n&n trucking ponds are prob ready...perch/pike...about 8 ft deep...fun for kids!

Been out on the ice with the 4 wheeler all week in southeastern Iron county, measured anywhere from 5"-9" yesterday. Good Luck, tight lines, n be safe.

Ice is looking good! There was 8" where I fished today and should only get better from here. The weather looks fairly cold and it doesn't look like too much snow

Out this morning in Dickinson county and didn't see anything less than 8" of good hard ice. Well, that and dink perch.

Went to genes pond east of sagola on sunday. There were 7 shacks and tire tracks where someone drove out there

. There is a solid 12 inches of ice and strong. I wont drive out yet, but will take snowmachine and wheeler out now. Got blown off. man was it windy. Steve

Went out Saturday 12/24 found some thin ice never got a line in the water. Now it is cooold so mabey this Saturday I will find some good ice and I can set some tip ups for trout.

Fished this morning picked up a dozen perch biggest one was 12 1/2"
