Hope to be out somewhere this coming week probably around Selkirk, been hearing the ice is 5 to 6.5 inches in some places.

Tibbs42 what pickerel ponds in transcona.    There is 5" of ice on the red at the float plane base.

Went out to Chalet this morning with mrhook and 3 others. Went out roughly 300 yards and the ice was approximately 10-11 inches thick along the way. Only probem is that under that ice is a combination of slush and jagged ice chunks.  :'(

The fishing was good, it was the catching that was bad.

me and a buddy found some pickeral ponds right near transcona.. loaded with nice green back looking pickeral.. theres another pond with smallys northern pickeral bullhead and catfish..

thanks for the report turbo. even though there was slush and ice chunks under the ice were you able to fish? if so how was the fishing? i will be making my way out there prob after next weekend and report how i do.i usuallt walk about a mile or on my first adventure of the year because im so excited and will report ice thickness on my way out.

No, we weren't able to fish there, probably would have needed 1lb of weight to get her down,lol

Hmmm....not sure about that.  If it is, it isn't a solid 10 inches.  A commercial fisherman I know advised staying off.

That said, I did see a guy out on the east side of LW on Sunday
