Haven't been out in a few weeks on the ice (steelheading).  Anyone know how the ice is on ninepipes, is it still safe?

actually ninepipes closed on march 1, in conjunction with a fed migratory wildfowl season....for some reason pablo remains open.....no word on the ice, however....to be safe, maybe a trip to the flathead or georgetown for good ice...

thanks for the heads up, didn't realise they closed it again in March.  So you can only really fish it for a month through the ice, that sucks.  Might have to head further north.  Haven't heard anything all that positive about pablo or kickinghorse.  thanks for the info.

well, there is some logic to the season there...this yr defied logic cause of the good march ice...fished on the last day of feb...epic numbers...but saw many a flock flying over wanting to land....ice didn't break from the edges till 2 weeks ago...drove by yesterday...lots of open water..lots of birds.. its a cool place but only has a 6 week ice season..what a view though..hope you found a place to fish..going to gtown tomorrow for my last hurrah....
