I believe it was 42 inches and 24lbs. 4oz.  Ive heard that the pike fishing in the summer is a waste of time myself but you couldnt put it past me on saturday...  we caught over 30 fish between 8 guys and 4 were over 10lbs

I catch a lot of Pike in the  summer. Running water or deep water is the key as previously said. find some drop offs and weeds and you should find Pike. I've even caught them in shallow water when it's hot.  Not always on big bait/lures either.

I can't even fathom catching a fish that size  :o It would drag my butt into the hole for sure considering I am only 18" bigger than that fish  ;D. Congrats to the one who put that on the ice. Big Kudos!!!

Goose they are talking about cranberry lake up north not cranberry pond near greece.  Cranberry lake is probably 200 miles away from batavia.

our group of 4 only caught 1 pike 6#. that 24# was a real beauty. That lake obviously has some giants. Law enforcement for the tournament was borderline harrassment. I have never seen so many wardens and rangers at one spot. Think of the combined salaries of all the officers at that event. what a waste of money. I will surely fish cranberry again but not sure on the derby.

I agree about ruining the fundraiser. You are right about them being nice however being checked more than once the same day is just crazy. I dont mind being checked but twice in two hours is just nuts.did you see them when you came off the ice 8 or 10 of them waiting like vultures

pike r everywhere who cares if people keep  a big pike for whatever. It's fully in their rights as a fishing license holder. That's why they pay the money every year. ::) ::)
