The biggest smelt i have seen have come out of Harveys lake and they were about 9-12''. Just wondering how big they get everywhere else?

I saw one 13 inches once. They get big ones in salt water bays I know.

yep 13-14" in the kennebec river in maine

I believe they get some good ones out of Heriman resivoir.

I have caught smelts on tip-ups 14" and they bit on the smaller smelt I was using for bait. Pleasant lake island falls ME.

i've caught a few around 15'' outta champlain while trolling for salmon
