Great Day on Washington Pond!!!
« on: Feb 12, 2011, 04:49 PM »
Heading out early this a.m. to Washington Pond....WoodsWise and Bigdadde66 met me at 5:30....we unloaded and headed to the fishing spot....snowmobile pulling the PortShack with all the gear in it and Rocky on my lap....going was great, then SLUSH!!! :%$#!:  Thought I blew up the sled but Rocky hit the kill switch....after Jeremy and I realized what happened we got the sled going again then went to pull the SportShack out of the slush....forgot to warn Jeremy about the tow bar....

We finally got to fishing and I got on the board with this little brookie...

After breakfast and some lunch Jeremy got a flag in the honey hole.....landing his first brown....

Forgot to get some other pics....but we had a big crew there...Pickerelman was there and his buddy....we had about 12 people in our fishing spot....4 fish caught...2 small brookies and 2 browns.....We also got a couple door prized.....it was a GREAT DAY all in all!!! :icefish:

What a great day all and all aside from my bout with the hitch. It was a great group of people and the food was tasty. I have been after browns all season and have not been able to seal the deal until today. I was pumped to finally get a brown thru the ice and get that monkey off my back. Good to finally meet and fish with pickerelman (lil weezie) and his buddy Tim. My day ended with a trip to my neighbor's (he is a surgeon) and after two big shots of tequila he laced me up with 6 stitches at his kitchen table. Now my eye is wicked swollen and my head is pounding, but I had an awesome day.

WW, that'd better be healed up by this coming weekend. I don't want you blaming your not catching fish on your "handicap" ;D
I've got the itch... No, not that one. It's the good kind.
It's pronounced "fay-len" (the x's are silent)

Hahaha!!.....Terry was just telling me that story on the way to Sebago last Friday....a treble hook in the finger does NOT sound like alot of fun.   :%$#!:

Nope, I think I would take the hitch gash over a big treble pike hook in the hand.

I've always been under the impression you couldn't use treble hooks under the ice... is that true?

So nobody has ever used the ol Boy Scout trick to remove a hook? Just push it all the way through and snip the barbed part off with a leatherman or something...

I did on myself couple of weeks ago small treble from airplane jig crashed into my middle finger Resorted to my eagle scout training and pushed her through and sniped off Pack Leader Wescott would have been proud might have even got another merit badge for courage
